Registering and updating user data

You can register and update the data only on www site. Other usage is possible also by mobile phone as WAP service.

Fill in the form and click "Register" button. The red asterisk indicates compulsory information. Privacy issues are considered in the description of personal data file.

You can choose username and password freely as long as long as their length is not more than 20 characters. Keep your username and password confidential.

Giving your mobile phone number makes the mobile use faster and more convenient. E-mail address is utilised in contacting the user in e.g. sending response to the user's feedback.

You can select maximum ten streets, that you are willing to get quick information from. Select the streets you use regularly. Multiple selection by pressing 'control' button and clicking the mouse simultaneously.

Registration is not possible unless you have read the description of personal data file and accepted the terms and conditions described in the file. The description of personal data file can be found via the link on the registration page.

You can change your profile or remove all your data on the "Own profile" page.

Logging in

Type the username and the password you saved when registering into the service. Click "Log in".

This step may be skipped in mobile use and you are automatically recognised by your telephone number. This requires that you have given your phone number when registering. Some telecom operators do not support automatic recognition. If you are not automatically recognised, just type your username and password.

Note that username and the password are case sensitive (e.g. "a" is different character than "A")

Starting page

After the welcome text you can see the traffic information concerning your preferences.

Own profile

You can change your profile or remove all your data (see Registering and updating user data).

News and notices

On the first set you can see the news and notices concerning your streets. On the other set you can see the news and notices concerning all travellers on Tampere.

Traffic information

You can see the traffic status graphically on the map and as text below the map. If there is no arrow symbol visible on a certain street

the traffic is flowing freely, or
the street or road is not monitored.

Following traffic conditions are detected:

Normal traffic. Traffic is flowing freely.
Queuing traffic. Traffic is flowing quite freely, but overtaking is difficult on a two lane road.
Weakened traffic conditions: The capacity of the street has decreased due to high traffic flow or some incident. Moving is getting more difficult.
Slow traffic. The velocity of the traffic flow is significantly lower than the speed limit.
Stopping traffic. Traffic flow keeps stopping and moving is very slow.
Stationary traffic: Vehicles are blocked and moving is impossible.
Traffic lights not operating: The traffic signal device on the intersection is either blinking yellow light or not operating at all.

You can open the map bigger on a new window. You can also open the map covering city centre.

By the link "Traffic flows" you can get graphical information about the latest traffic flows (traffic volumes) on your streets as well as traffic flows 7 and 14 days ago. Rest of the streets can be found by the link "All streets".

Feedback

Only the registered users can send feedback by the Feedback function.

Select the subject, write the feedback and click "Send feedback". The feedback is sent to the person involved as email. Note that your name will be automatically attached. Therefore it is not possible to send anonymous feedback.

Click "Log out".
